Dänische Schülerinnen und Schüler besuchen im Rahmen eines Sprachkurses des Neuen Gymnasiums Potsdam die Landeshauptstadt. Auf dem Studenplan stehen nicht nur Deutschunterricht und Stadtrundfahrt.
Seit dem 30. Juni sind 15 Schülerinnen und Schüler im Alter von 16 bis 18 Jahren aus Dänemark in Begleitung ihrer dänischen Deutschlehrerin im Neuen Gymnasiums Potsdam zu Gast. Während ihres Aufenthaltes in der Landeshauptstadt wollen sich die jungen Leute über den Aufbau und die Arbeit der Stadtverwaltung und der Stadtverordnetenversammlung informieren.
Außerdem gibt es für die Jugendlichen 30 Stunden Deutschunterricht und eine Sight-Seeing Tour durch Potsdam. In dem abwechslungsreichen Programm können sich die Schüler aus unserem Nachbarland auch an verschiedenen Projekten während der Projektwochen mitarbeiten und das Potsdamer Umfeld mit ihren Gastfamilien erkunden.
Seit über 30 Jahren vermittelt der Pädagogische Austauschdienst (PAD) der Kultusministerkonferenz im Auftrag der Länder und mit finanzieller Förderung des Auswärtigen Amtes Kurse zur deutschen Sprache und Landeskunde für ausländische Schülerinnen und Schüler an Gymnasien, Real- und Gesamtschulen in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Ziel des Sprachkursprogramms, an dem jährlich ca. 500 ausländische Schüler und Schülerinnen aus 18 Nationen teilnehmen, ist die Förderung der deutschen Sprache im Ausland. Das Programm soll den Jugendlichen ein realistisches Deutschlandbild vermitteln und das Erlernen der deutschen Sprache fördern.
